Today was the closing process of the unit 18377, the layer under the floors in building 98, but also the starting of new unit bellow it, numbered as 31196. The closing of 18377 confirmed a diverse soil structure than the floors above, as well different one than the layer bellow. Anyhow there weren’t architectural features associated with the floor or a possible earlier building.
As for the new unit (31196), it apparently differs than the later one. It’s color and soil consistency are mainly brownish and yellowish and change its compact character to loose as we go deeper. For the moment, there are no specific features or findings which would significantly differ this level from the one above. Material is mainly similar to the layers above i.e. Chalcolithic pottery, animal bones, obsidian tools and tiny stones. Due to this we go faster and deeper in order to define whether this unit is fill or a fundament for the building 98. For the moment, nothing bellow indicates existing of a earlier floor or an architectonic feature. |
