Entry: | We started the day by cleaning inside building 105 in order to take good photos of the floor, a fallen wall and a large groundstone which my colleagues found. Especially because ASV worked very fast, we were able to finish this quickly and I could get back to my section even before breakfast. Unfortunately, the layer turned out to be just a small cluster of inclusions and pottery shards. When I cut further in, penetrating the buttress F.5061 and perhaps the wall F.3310, I did not find any break in the construction, all mudbrick and mortar layers were continuous, which was very obvious, because they were easy to follow. Because of the lack of time, we will most likely not be working on that feature again, which is a pity, because the stratigraphy is still unclear. The section was finished and the units closed. I will probably be working on the area which is thought to be an entrance from tomorrow on. As we don't have many days left for excavation, there is an urge to get fast and clear results. Hopefully, the quality of the work will not suffer from that. |
