| Entry: | For the last four days, we have been working on trench closing tasks. Cleaning, taking millions of photos, taking a few last samples, dismantling the tent, taking more pictures, also from a cherry picker, finishing documentation and finds sorting. Today, we veiled the trench in geotextile and secured some areas with sandbags. Then we had a saying-goodbye ceremony including the ritual deposition of Efes bottle caps to mark the horizon for future archaeologists. On Saturday, an excavator is going to come and push the soil heap into the trench to close it. |
