Entry: We have been excavating building 113 for couple days now and so far it seems that we are basically removing the underground foundation part of younger building that the build on unstable ground (possibly midden). Similarly to neighboring B 108 it seems that lots of effort was made to erect this construction, foundations were put deep in the ground and supporting walls and buttresses were built. So far we started with the removal of wall F 3676 which was thought to be the eastern wall of the building. I was adjacent and parallel to the wall F3677 which was thought to be built later to support the F3676. After the removal of the latter it become apparent that it was actually build later (as there was infill in between the F 3677 and underlying F3676 foundation wall directly below them). However it looks like it all together with the foundation walls below was part of the same construction event (first the wall F3677 was erected than the base of the foundation made of two rows of reused brick was put together some 0,2m West from it, than the space between them was filled with mortar like material. Finally our wall F 3676 was erected and sticked directly to F3677 with thin layer of mortar U2118 . Probably similar works were made also in S and W part of the building. Than the inside of the whole building was filled with thick layer of packing infill (Units 20463, 20468 and 19567 excavated in 2012) making a stable base for building above.
