Today I cleaned the top of the truncated wall (79) by scraping to make its southern edge clear. It seems that the wall had leaned to the south. After lunch I have drawn the edge of the fill where in space 116 beside the wall (79). Then I started to remove the fill which was full of animal bones (4465) to see the north facing of the south wall (483?). While I was digging 4465 fill, I noticed another fill is coming up underneath of it. It was friable, partly sandy and animal bones and charcoal fragments were decreasing, but scrapped burnt or unburnt mudbrick fragments. I did not dig this fill but gave another number (4430) to the small finds (small bones etc.) which came off by mistake.

I removed 4465 fill and left 4430 unexcavated. We should put the info. about 4465 with Lucy because she has the unit sheet of it. I am going to Istanbul tonight...

Before removing the wall 483, today I have started my day by drawing the top view of it. Graphics no. 99/238. Then, by using the general procedure (brick, mortar, brick and mortar), I gave 3 unit numbers to the wall 483. Brick 4434, mortar 4435, brick and mortar 4436.Entered By: Nurcan Yalman |
