Entry: Finally, burial 7508 is coming to an end. Today after lunch we did the last 3D-model and first thing tomorrow morning me and Belinda from Human remains will lift the last bones and finish the burial. But of course this is not the last burial in B.43. A neonate burial (F.7510) appeared in the south-east corner of sp. 236. But this will probably not take that long as it's allready lying flat on its side.

Burial 7508 have taken 8 days to excavate and it's because of its upright position. It had to be taken out in sections and because of this it's been the first burial where we have used several 3D-models to document it. During this process we saw quite qickly how important it was to have the prism exactly vertical when using the total station, as this will cause minimal change between the different 3D-model layers. The importance of having a clean link between the physical targets and its digital counterparts became very clear this way.
