Entry: | Building 113 continues to puzzle us, we got so accustomed to the hypothesis that it was built on a midden (which, in our mind corresponded beautifully with what we saw in Building 108), that finding what seems to be older walls underlying its foundation part caused us to completely reconsidered our reasoning. The midden that we saw seems to be only composed of couple layers about 15 cm thick and under it something that could be roomfill is visible. However one thing is certain, a lot of energy were put into erecting stable base for this building. Subsequent steps of lying foundation walls and filling the whole frame of the building with compact packing infill are visible, a specially in S part of the building. Additional supporting walls in S (F3678) and E were also at some point added outside the structure to stabilize it. The fact that so much effort was put in to erecting those structures makes one regret, that both buildings B113 and B108 were so badly preserved that only hints of what they looked like were left. |
