Today removing of 483 wall almost finished. Also the fill between 483-79 walls appeared but there were some changings in the western half of the fill which looks more bricky and the eastern half was implying charcoal and more ashy.

I have finished removing 483 wall. And it was prepared for drawing but it was quite difficult to see the mrtar and brick seperations because their colour was quite smilar. After lunch, I drew the fill between 79-483 and gave an unit no. 4445. But when I started to scrape/excavate I have noticed some traces which look like a wall !!

I started to clear the mud bricks and the mortars which appeared instead of the infill at the west half and behind (?) of the wall 483. And at the east part, I have seen that the charcoally fill continues further north which seems below the wall 79. I could not fallow the fill until its northern borders to not to empty under the wall 79. But it could not prevent of the collapsing it.

Today after I have drawn wall 483 plan early in the morning, I moved to Jez’s area to draw the elevation of the wall 497.

We have finished the elevation drawing and also removed the plasters on the wall and also we have nearly finished the overlay as well.

Today was quite active. I and Shahina shared the visitors and untill 13.00, I was with them. After 13.00 o’clock, I and Jez started to take off wall 497.

Early in the morning, Richard visited me with a big showel and pushed the wall so the rest of the day I just started to clean the section behind the wall. But I couldn’t reach behind the wall 497 because it seemed that it was larger than we expected and going further north. Then we altogether went to village for wedding. Today, Adnan joint to me and we discussed about the relationship amongst the top wall 503, wall 497, fills around and the midden. After all we decided to excavate the top crumbly layer of wall 503 and than a grey fill appeared and with this fill we also traced wall 503 face.

Today we drew the wall 503 and the grey fill and also the yellowish fill, which is trickled down on southern face of the wall 503 and removed them.Entered By: Nurcan Yalman |
