Excavation Diary Entry

Entry: I have begun working in space 173 which is has been excavated down to the layer just above the floors. At the southern end of the space we have an oven (502) up against the south section surrounded by an ashy infill which continues northwards under a potential platform which stretches east-west across the space. This feature is defined at its southern end by a line of plaster and the rest of it which extends northwards is light brown/orangey packing material. At the northern end of this feature there is a line of building material, bricks and plaster which may be a wall that has been truncated. There is a cut in the southeast corner which I have just excavated that may have been a post hole.Entered By: Lucy Hawkes
