Entry: Cleaned back the northern half of space 173. There are a number of features in this area. In the northwest corner there is a large area of plaster and orange material which is probably a bin. Slightly further south on the eastern wall (484) there is another possible bin which has a few clay balls and stones in it which look as though they might have been fire cracked or at least heated. Opposite this feature, against the west wall there is a large area of plaster and orange material which is also some kind of feature. To the south of this area of plaster, there is at least one layer of plastered floors. The line of brick and building material seems to separate off the area of bins to the north from the southern area with the oven. It will be interesting to see whether the ashy infill around the oven to the south, which continues under the platform, continues up to the line of building material.Entered By: Lucy Hawkes
