| Entry: | Whilst working on TPC Trench 3, we finalised work on the oven fill (unit 31311 feature 7159). This means we were able to remove the wall of the oven and can continue excavation in this area. The wall was quite small, and has been sampled (flotation, archive, architecture) although no finds were recovered during excavation. In addition, I was able to assist JMR in excavating a mortar layer on one of the numerous walls in the trench (unit 22799 feature 7482). The mortar was quite thick, and for the most part relatively straightforward to remove to reveal the mudbrick underneath. |
