| Entry: | At TPC Trench 3, we excavated feature 7486, a mudbrick wall. This included units 31345, 31346, and 31347 - brick, mortar, and mixed layers respectively. The feature has been somewhat difficult to excavate, as like many walls in TPC, it is not necessarily easy to identify where a feature is older than another. In this case, this appears to be a younger wall built against an older wall. It should be noted that the mortar layers are quite thick, and appear to have charcoal inclusions. A small number of artefacts were found in excavating the wall, bone being the most common type. With tomorrow being the final day of excavation for JMR and myself, we are planning to have completely removed this wall by the end of tomorrow. |
