| Entry: | After cleaning, prepearing to site to excavate and lots of meeting ,we could start excavate at Çatalhöyük. The other things also are part of excavation process but i think more exciting thing is of course touching to layers to understanding to Çatalians life. I have been start to working at South Shelter with Onur in a same place which is space 551 and 552 in Building 160 (Lost Leopards Spaces). But before excavating to these spaces we had a another goal. Space 583 and space 510 had been excavated by us. These spaces are located at the norhern part ot B.160. We were trying to understand to these strange spaces and B.118s South Wall.. These spaces were excavated by Mellaart in 1965 on a large scale. He exposed a building which is called for this project B.118. Also he excavated lots of features of this building but he couldnt expose to South Wall of this building . Actually it was hard to define and excavate this part because truncations, erosions, connections between sp.552 lots of strange plans… Finally we me and Onur have started to remove to midden layers which standed on B.118s infills. I like very much to dig midden layers but sometimes this is bored to me. Excavate layer to layer, thin and thick layers with unfollow layers and a whole unknown story… But to be honest, with the priority results we can understand well whats happened and whats the story about these accumulations. We have excavated totally 7 different layers at that midden which are U.22343,22344,22345,22346,22349,22351,22352. Anyway after that we got that a few results from midden as some fire spots in open space activity, some baby pig bones, some nice finds etc… The good point is after midden we reached to infill of B.118 and hope to we will touch to South Wall of B.118. |
