| Entry: | Finally i have started to excavate to burial which is infill number U.32404. This has got a clear cut on floor surface. When we have removed all infill from building, we expected two burials in building. One of the burial might have been southwest corner of main room and the another one could be western side of main room. We have chosen to expose to remove western side ones. And i got this mission. The another team friends have another job which are some architectural features in central room. Anyway my another story was beginning with burial in Çatal. I was very excited because after the years i would like to excavate a burial. Probably this one will be last burial which i excavated in Çatal Project. Who knows it but Project is coming soon. After with the unuseful informations my feelings, i have started to excavate burial infill. This burial has a very sharp cut edge on floor surface. I could follow to edge so easy. And finally i could touch to first individuals remains. This was a skull remains which is located to eastern corner of cut. It seems to be removal skull(Sk.32447). Because when i have exposed western part of cut i exposed another human remains(Sk.32437). This remains didnt related with that skull. The western part of cut the another individual is lie on grave. After removed to infill we could see articulated bones. After with hardworking days i could exposed more completely to this skeleton. According to me, excavate to that burial was so harder than other job. Because skeleton was in so deep in the cut and the infill of burial was extremely hard to dig. For early levels in Çatal we have learned a type o soil which is greasy layer. This is not a really standard soil type. It is so terrible to dig and excavation tool can’t be enough to scrape it sometimes. Anyway i had that layers in the that grave. Especially on above of the skeleton remains. After the exposed to bones, we defined some wooden plank remains from back side of skeleton and also some red pigment remains on the chest. Ashley interpreted that maybe they have painted with red ochre this individuals skin before buried to her. Story is becoming so interesting but i had to leave for removing building features. We are wondering to know whats happened underneath of B.160. So i and Onur have removed to some floor remains(U.32455,32492) for early phases in that building. Next job was removing to wall plasters. When we have exposed all of mudbrick and mortar lines, that looks like amazing drawing from neolithic. Mostly there is a regular shape of mudbrick and mortar on the walls. After the documentation we were starting to collapse walls. Now it is time to say goodbye to B.160. |
