| Entry: | With my last sentence from last diary was goodbye to B.160. Now unfortunately we have to say goodbye to Çatalhöyük and also the that time goodbye to our friends, memories, dreams and our family in here. This is one of the difficult feeling in my life to leave from here earlier. Of course this decision is for our safety and benefits but i can not explain to this situation to myself.
Anyway after B.160, i have worked in B.161 which is below to B.160. Me, Onur, Marek and our superlady Christina have started to remove our new building with new feelings. The infill was typical infill as the another ones. One day when we were excavating infill with mattock, we had get really strange individual into infill. This individual lied on directly B.161 infill. We didnt expect this kind of situation. When we were happy to expose all skeletons from B.160, now we have another one. Archaeology is a life when you plan it and expect that some thing, it is not going like that. After removing skeleton within a few days, we have continued to remove another part of building and finally reached to floor. For the this building just reaching to floor made us so happy. We have indentified to floor hard and some part of building, floor remains was so invisible. Especially when i was working in side room in sp.606, it was really hard to recognize to floor remains. Because side rooms floor were plastered less than main room with more grayish material. I know this information well. Of course i didnt expect any fine material in floor surface. One day when Ian was in tour at the site, he was in my working space. He wanted to know what i am doing and i have started to explain it. But he didnt convince this explanation about floor remains. When he was coming next time to building, he was agree with me. After this examination, i am very thankful to Ian, because i should think my knowledges and experiences all the time. And continue to learning archaeology with every reviews about my work. And after last team photo, the time to say goodbye to Çatal 2016. |
