| Entry: | I decided to give a new unit number to the underlying fill as it is of different composition composed partly of layers of plaster rather than more bricky deposits. These layers are not continuous but are rather fragmentary and patchy so were taken off as one layer. On removal of this unit (4794), I discovered a possible back of the bin. It is made of different material to the southern arm so may constitute a different phase in the construction of the bin. This back edge is plastered and extends west to meet up with the eastern arm of F.518. This eastern side of bin 518 goes all the way back to the wall whilst the back of F.488 abuts this arm, so was constructed later.Entered By: Lucy Hawkes |
