Excavation Diary Entry

Entry: We continued clearing the walls today, and made some significant progress. The north, west, and east walls are pretty much clear, and the east wall is almost done (7932, 7933, 7934, 7935, 7936, 7937, 7938). The discovery of another late, intrusive burial in the double wall to the south - right between Emma's space and ours slowed down the cleaning of the south wall. We produced an enormous amount of paperwork. I wanted to err on the side of too many unit numbers, just in case we turned out to have significant late disturbances or a very different type of deposit near the features. We did get a number of good results: the horn 7920 turned out to _not_ be attached to the east wall, unfortunately, and SLS and SHL discovered two more bits of horn core. The number of these in our space is beginning to get ridiculous. We found another huge distal humerus in the north wall, opposite the other one (7922). 7938 and 7935 both yielded small clay animal figurines, which unfortunately came out of the sieve (7938x1, 7935x1).Entered By: UK
