| Entry: | Bit of a non eventful day, we seem to be in a cycle of one good day and one non day. Mary and Roddy are excavating more rubbish, Jon is still excavating his wall which has several types of brick and mortar and marl, possibly infilling a niche? but in a very elaborate manner, this actually emphasises the need to excavate walls carefully. He is coming down to a more uniform horizon of brick and mortar. Anwen and Ali are taking out the bulk under all (1526)/feature 57, Ruth is taking out make up layer (1532), originally believed to be floors over which the ochre dust had been spilt/applied, but the white flecking believed to be very worn floors has been identified as salting, this layer links with the make up/levelling below the floors in space 108. As an interpretation it makes more sense as it was unsatisfactory as floors, therefore it is possible that this make up/levelling may have extended across the whole of space 107, and therefore the equivalent of (1056) over the eastern half of the space. Naomi is making sure all the paper work is done for this area, Wendy has taken her block sample through the floors on the step and began drawing the floor and wall plaster section with Evan which will be pedestalled in order to lift with ease. She left to go to Geoff Summers site this afternoon. Banu and Nerwin began cleaning the north rooms today. I managed to work on recording sheets for at least an hour.Entered By: Shahina Farid |
