| Entry: | Its been couple of days since the last diary entry. In the meantime we finished excavating building 51, space 98 to its final phase if use/ Apart from conservation, the building wont be touched again this year.
We started taking out the room fill of a clearly defined space. Only the western wall was truncated by a pit that contained redeposited midden material. The date of the pit is not certain other than it is later than the neolithic building [not yet given a space number] and earlier than the large Roman foundation trench. I doubt that the pottery will answer this unless later pot is found in the unit since it seems to be mostly reposited. The unit [10324] was completely sieved because it contained midden material and this produced a tiny figureine [X3].
For now we are continuing to remove the room fill and also sort out the area around 1045/1165.Entered By: Lisa Yeomans |
