| Entry: | We started to excavate rest part of space 227 with Ahmet Çinici that we excavated last year. We cleaned up the topsoil and tried to see the features on the plan of 2003. We easily saw the south wall (feature 1599), west wall (F2000) and bench (F2001) atteched to west wall. On the SW corner of space we identify a square room thing which has plasters on the wall surfaces.It is WE 1.60xSN 0.90m. At the moment we took out infill of that square room as Unit 10345 and 11939. Shahina suggested that it could be a entrence of two different rooms. Ian also suggested that today too. Then I showed them the holes on the west and east walls. Holes has diameters about 15-20cm both sides and they are filled with brown clayish staff. Holes are quite small to acces in them. It is very difficult to make comment for the usage of holes and also small square room. I can suggest that these features are should be structures for depot or a place to carry things more easier .
In the large infill area we found a animal bone cluster which a big humerus attachted to bench. Animal remains specialists were very excited about that . I found some other big bones , a arrow head, worked bones in it also. The big humerus was also articulated . Specialistes said that it is the first humerus found complete enogh. To be honest it was very boring to explore all bones for me. And I spent two days about it.ın the end i finished the cluster today. We gave a new unit number to all infill (11955) after finishing the cluster. Now want dig the fill of square and the large fill area in the same levels.a last note , there are red paintings on thein side of south wall of square, north face of north wall of square and north face of bench.Entered By: Candemir Zoroglu |
