Entry: | well, since treasure day the finds have been a little more 'normal', but the archaeology has still been interesting if confusing. Walls going everywhere and building infill that is exactly the same colour and texture as the walls themselves. Slowly we have been taking off layers of infill as separate units, noting burnt patches or today on 11663 a posthole (11668) showing the layers are genuine layers that existed as work surfaces at some point. Thisafternoon we started on the next layer (11670), very mixed and quite thick. It is packed full of bone, obsidian and pot pieces with a scattering of small finds too. A platform and bench sequence has begun to emerge, lovely white surfaces easily distinguishable from the stuff we're taking off.. Such a joy to work with after the universal orange of the last couple of days. Tomorrow we will uncover the building, something to look forward to over night!Entered By: Alex Pryor |
