Entry: | The bucranium was found, but I didn't get a free computer until now to write about it. So, by removing the collapse layer10286 and the cluster 10281 (skull and hornes) I found the bucranium cluster number 11963, which is in situ set into the plastered wall behind it. The succesion of events within space 94 seems to have been as I suggested in my previous diary and the only new thing on the matrix is the bucranium in situ. Speaking of the succesion of events, it is to be mentioned that the big question now is wheather any of the two skulls and the horns and the pig jaw above the bucranium were in situ (collapsed on the spot at the moment of the walls collapse), or they were brought in at the end of the fire. My personal impression is that they were placed there at the end of the demolition of the house, because we don't have any traces of plaster on them as remains of the fitting into the wall and also we know for sure that the bunch of horns above wouldn't have stayed like that in the air but they were placed on top of the demolished layer 10286. Under the bucranium, placed on the floor 11934 against the wall we found a pair of goat horns probably in situ. This was given clustre number 11976
Space 93 Within the collapse layer 10285 two clusters were identified. A bucranium fallen on the floor 11944, and a structure that seems to be a shelf fallen on wall 2032. On the floor 11968 there was a layer of burnt staff mixed with seeds and stones, but very destroyed by the rodents tracks, as well as the floor. In the south eastern corner of the floor feature 2040 was set into the floor itself. This was believed to be a basket but it looks more like a box dug into the ground. It will be excavated tomorrow, but so far we removed the bone cluster within it 11965 and bits of the fill 11970Entered By: Doru Bogdan |
