Entry: Since last entry things have moved along and we are now down to the early construction phases of Building 56. We have removed the earlier oven and hearth sequences. This involved removing floor 12846, lower floor 12852 and walls and mortar construction 12847/12857 in oven F. 2076 The sequence of two oven floors is mirrored by two phases of hearth F. 2075, these being floor/walls 12844/12845 and 12850/12851. Two surfaces were removed from Platform F. 2077 12843 and 12854. Early floors have also been taken out 12840, 12841 and 12853. These along with the early hearth and oven and platform F. 2077 were constructed over a burnt ash deposit 12831 which has been prioritised. What this deposit represents is open to question but significantly it sealed the plastering of Bench F. 2056 and Platform F. 2057, meaning these were constructed and initially plastered prior to the construction of the oven and hearth. This would also seem to imply that any burials are intered before or during the early construction phase of the building, which is something we postulated last year with building 44, but had no direct proof. Having said that the people under the platform F. 2057 are not behaving themselves as Candemir has revealed some disarticulated human bones 12863 that appear to be sitting on or are surrounded by mudbrick all very strange and confusing. As usual Im sure this will sort itself out i hope.Entered By: RR
