Entry: | Having finished the recording of space 276 we have moved to the east to remove the fill layers in space 90 which were started last year. This space is delimited by a narrow wall (F.2211) and appears to have been constructed to retain the midden that subsequently built up in the space between space 90 and space 276. The fills layers and pit excavated in space 90 seem to be a mixture of redeposited midden material and bricky room fill. It could have been dumped here to provide support to the western eastern side of the wall F.2211. Underneath the wall laminated midden layers and fills are visible and continue under the wall; therefore the plan is to now start excavating the midden to identify the relationship between spaces 90 and 276 and see if any more buildings survive below.Entered By: LY |
