Entry: Salve!

Last few days we started removing the upper layers of midded, secretly hoping that the walls of space 280 will be completely exposed and the midden plus infill within will be contained so that we can empty the room. But midden is midden and the lenses are just horrificly mixed and inter-cutting each other so right now I don't know where I am any more.
I have some ideas though. The upper midden layers 12648 and 12653 are completely gone and they were clearly the latest in the area. Relatively small though they didn't go over the space 280. The next one lower 12652 seemed to be larger covering the entire area. It was clearly on top of a more clayie layer beneath and over the walls and inside the space 280. Inside the space it sloped dramaticly towards north.. Most of it is removed now. In the northern part of the midden area 12652 seems to go under the same clayie layer that it came of from in the sourth. That's impossible though so it must be something different.
Inside the space 280 another layer of midden was exposed beneath 12652. That's 12654. I don't know wheather to remove that or take more from the outside simply because I need to make a decission on which one is next in sequence. I'll have to clean it more and see better.

In these last days I made a mistake calling space 280, 180 instead. That went on some unit/feture sheets, but Shahina said she'll correct that. If you see that anywhere and it doesn'y make sense, that might be why!

I also excavated yesterday feature 1476 which seems to be a grave with roman tegulae cover. 12655 is the upper fill, 12657 are the tegulae, 12656 is the cut and the skeleton is 12658. Maria is kindly digging that right now.

I started cleaning building 51 (the small box building inside bucranium building B52 and I'll start taking out floors soonEntered By: Doru Bogdan
