| Entry: | After finishing putting canvas up over the final part of the last 40 40 shelter we went back to midden digging. Started taking out midden (as 12988) from the west side of the space (279) and just worked towards the east side. Picked up a distinctive tip-line about half-way across which we're sure we will be able to link up with one of the tip-lines from our 'pit' diggings. Made good progress today, no nasty surprises and tomorrow we should be able to say whether (12988) is the same as one of the layers we were digging before (that is 12980 or 12971). A bit of rain again this afternoon - though the archaeology didn't get wet this time.Entered By: RT |
