Entry: Today our understanding of B51 changed dramaticly. It is clear now that the east, the north and half of the west wall of B51 are walls of B52 reused in 51. So are the platforms.
B51 was constructed by removing the burnt house fill of 52 and constructing a L shaped wall to retain the remaining house fill. Then a layer of clay make up 12670 was spread all over, including on the walls and covered by a single layer of plaster 12667.

How do we know that?

1. The walls sections are different. The ones of 52 are burnt and constructed with different bricks.
2. The junction is obvious and in the southeastern corner the new wall is built against the layers of plaster of the old one.
3. The old walls are covered by many many layers of plaster, while the new ones are only plastered once.
4. The niche 1477 was not seen by Lisa last year because it was covered by the one layer of plaster and it became visible only after the women removd the plaster. 1477 is part of B52 and not reused in 51
5. The make up layer of B51 coveres the pasres of B52

Etc.

We removed 12670 completely. We removed the hearth make up 12671 and we only need to take out the double bin and the pedestal and then take out the walls and the B51 will be completely goneEntered By: Doru Bogdan
