Entry: | Not an awful lot to say but wanted to mention that I have moved into my new house!! Yesterday (after putting up the shelter over the area at the east of the main 4040 tent) we started to strip the sandbags from building 58. Actually the workmen did all the hard work. I was fretting a bit that everything would be ok but I needn't have worried. It all went fine. Blocking F2127 - at the east of space 274-is leaning rather precariously, and the north end of wall F2000 looks a bit wobbly but the rest looks great. Nice oven! Really like all the kerbs as well. That’s all there is to say for now. Almost finished cleaning it today then on with the sampling.
Oh and the late grave F1476 ended up having an infant burial. Although the skull was truncated by the foundation cut of Building 41- cut 12627- the rest of the skeleton - 12664 was in very good condition. It had been buried in a rectangular lining of stone and tiles, which was covered by more broken tiles - 12657. Lori planned and lifted the skeleton today whilst I was in Building 58, then hopefully tomorrow I will finish excavating the feature.
Oh and it rained quite heavily this afternoon. Hope building 58 is ok.Entered By: MCD |
