| Entry: | Not a lot exctiting happening so far but thought I would take the opportunity to describe what's going on in Building 58.
After stripping the building and giving it a really good clean I familiarised myself with the features and the previous recording. Then had a bit of a panic about where to start. Building 58 is such a nice, contained house I really wanted to do it justice. Shahina helped calm my nerves a lot and I got going recording floor layers.
It seemed sensible to start on the main floor area of space 227 (F2192) trying to work out the latest floor layer. Then I would try to fit the platforms etc. into the sequence. At first it seemed almost impossible to remove each of these very thin layers individually but it does seem to have gotten somewhat easier to spot the subtle differences. In case anyone is interested in numbers, so far I have removed units 13201 to 13207. So far haven't been able to tie any of the platforms or features to these floors but hopefully it will all start making sense. Looks like I might have a plastered over void in the middle of the floor. Should be able to excavate this soon. Have imagined all kinds of things being in it. Am getting a bit used to one find a day!!Entered By: MCD |
