This bench was revealed through the excavation of units 8060 and 8025. 8025 was excavated first but it was not until unit 8060 had been removed that the bench became apparent. This was due to the fact that the southern edge of the bench is considerably eroded whilst the northern edge (as revealed after excavation of unit 8060) is straight with further deposits abutting it. So far no units have abutted the southern edge of bench 1315.
This would appear to be a levelling deposit rather than a bench Roddy 20/07/09 |
