Infant burial. 3-6 months old. Fairly well preserved. Below similar burial (10495), although this is below both plaster and make up surfaces, which means that this infant was buried before the main construction phase of Building 42 before the initial laying down of platform F1501.
Poorly defined cut, and seemingly very close stratigraphically to more human remains visible though some areas of fill and very little make-up/ infilling is present between the two burials.
Practically all of the skeleton was present, and mostly well preserved. Shell was smashed or in very fragmentory condition. A single, poorly made haematile bead was found in the neck region and so may suggest a simple necklace? Only find within fill or relation to skeleton. |
