Large rectangular platform in NE corner of space 117; constructed in a number of phases, removal of the later of which on the W side revealed the earlier phase to be a more rounded feature. Only partly excavated in 1998.
Subrectangular platform in NE corner of space 117 built in a number of phases, the earlier of which appear to have been more rounded than later one. Truncated by a number of features, none of which suggest burials under the platform. Given the number of oven type features in this space could this have been food preparation platforms? A 'clean north' versus 'dirty south' theory would support this, ie 'clean' to the N for food preparation, 'dirty' area to the S for baking etc. |
