Squarish platform, originally thought to be a bench, until excavation revealed that it ran a considerable distance under the section. The platform sequence was characterised by a series of grey-brown make-up layers, a whitish-grey (occasionally with a greasy clay feel) plaster surfaces. Once excavated down to the earliest layers the platform went from being upstanding and flat to being slightly concave and dipping off from a ridge on its north side, towards the south. |
