Additional Phase Info: 4040.I = Surface eroded structures, generally phase uncertain, overlying 4040.H. Heavily eroded at the surface of the mound, Sp.265 of B.54 overlies the outline of an earlier structure Sp.139. Prior to the introduction of the Hodder phases Sp.265 of B.54 had been allocated to Mellaart Level IV -III very crudely based on comparison of the material assemblage but Mellaart levels of buildings/spaces NOT excavated in the 1960s have been removed to allow an independent assessment on phasing. NB/Work in progress. Correct as of date entered or modified. 

Description:
Western/southern space of B54. L-shape.
Due to its proximity to the surface, all the floors were eroded away and we got straight into the make-up layer underneath and into the burials.
We also excavated some of the infill of the earlier buildings in order to expose their features and make sure that the walls of 54 were floating (FS 2009)
