Additional Phase Info: 4040.I = Surface eroded structures, generally phase uncertain, overlying 4040.H. Heavily eroded at the surface of the mound, Sp.266 of B.54 overlies the outline of an earlier structure Sp.139. Prior to the introduction of the Hodder phases Sp.266 of B.54 had been allocated to Mellaart Level IV -III very crudely based on comparison of the material assemblage but Mellaart levels of buildings/spaces NOT excavated in the 1960s have been removed to allow an independent assessment on phasing. NB/Work in progress. Correct as of date entered or modified. 

Description:
eastern space of B54. Truncated by a byzantine burrial. Its floors were 100% erroded away, so we only excavated a burrial under the floor level and the make up layer, exposing therefore the walls of building underneath.
