Space 500 can be divided into 6 main activitu areas: the northwestern activity area is dominated by platform F.7952 and its defining kerbs, the southwestern activity area t is defined by intense occupation (floor accumulation) and use; the southern actjvjty area is defined mostly by platform F.7951, the southeastern activity area is defined by the positioning of fire installations and the entry, the eastern end of the space is defined by platform F.7965 and bench F.7966 and the northern quadrant defined by its relative lack of features. The organization of these quadrants follow the classic ‘north-south’ division in the use of space at Neolithic Çatalhöyük.
The space was divided into two by division F.7990 - a parittion which had a number of posts associated with it.
