Description: Buildings in TPC 2 and 3 respectively. |
|
Condition: New exposed archaeological features in slightly damp substrate. |
Treatment: In TPC 2, Building 121 there was a new geometric wall painting exposed this year. The conservation team was able to expose 3 walls in the structure (the 4th still in the trench section). The east wall had a bulk of the design which was done in white on grey plaster. The painting has at least 4 different phases. The stripped geometric pattern is in the best condition. During the exposing process a temporary tent was constructed to shield the painting from the sun. When the process was finished the painting was consolidated with 2.5% Paraloid B72 in 50:50 alcohol : acetone. The application was done in several layers to limit color change.
In Building 122, there was a spectacular phytolith find with several bins in a small square room. Part of the wall collapsed due to the foot traffic and was reconstructed using Primal AC-33 and Matero' mortar mix, as the feature will be removed next year. The reason for reconstuction this year, was for the 3D model. |
