Area: South
Interpretive Categories: robbed-out grave cut backfill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial; Deposition: heterogeneous
Description: photo pre-ex and also photo x1 in situ
Discussion: Didn't really feel like a burial fill to me - altho' I haven't dug a burial here so I'm not sure - but seemed too compact, material often mudbricky, - with flecks of charcoal, small frags daub, mortar, plaster - cut appears to have been backfilled with building material - scrappy frags of human bone throughout, fairly evenly distributed. None articulated - appears to me to come from different individuals (colouration/size) but no pattern that I could see in distribution. 1 x find - bone awl.
Human bone people (department humainitie) say 2 individuals represented - juvenile and adult
