Discussion: This is a make-up layer situated in western part of basal boundary of unit 12221 and together with this layer forming a make-up below a wall 10985.

On the E side of unit 12223 a small fragment of wall (12224) appeared, which is possibly another part of a wall 11792 - situated on the other side of a cut 11589.

In basal boundary of unit 12223 the remains of construction of an oven were noticed (unit 12251) as well as a fragment of a floor (unit 12244). Therefore this basal boundary had prominent and constructional features and the lowest differed from 1017.11 (E) to 1017.19 (W), so the heights ranged from 0.26 (E) to 0.18 (W).

It is possibly another part o layer (infill) excavated as unit 12200 its upper layer on S side of unit 12223 and if so, it is also same as unit 12225 - from which it is separated by wall 12224.
