Discussion: It is a mudbrick wall oriented N-S in Western part of the trench. Stratigraphically, the unit was placed directly undernetah the second brick course of the wall 11583 and it laid on top of the wall 15889. The wall 12230 comprised two courses of bricks, however, the alignments of the bricks were completely different in each of the two courses. In the upper course, the bricks were oriented W-E, the second course was made of two rows of bricks, oriented N-S. Such an alignment of the bricks makes it a massive construction. Worth noticing is that there was no archaeological material except for a few fr of bones in the bricks. This ma imply the mud/ clay used for the bricks manufacture was initiall cleaned. The latter remains in a firm contact to the two younger wall (11583). Stratigraphic relations and shift (10-15 cm) between the eastern face of the units 12230 and 15889 indicate that they were not part of the same construction. Hence, the must be treated as two walls raised one on top of another in different phases of the mound occupation. Size of bricks in the courses are as follows (from the North):

1. 0.36 x 0.27 x 0.08
