Unit description: Worked cattle scapula (X1) found on top of small hearth. No dry sieved bone, so 4 mm flotation sorted and recorded completely. 2 flotation samples, each with moderate amounts of bone, mostly small fragments of scrap. Some burning in sample 1, very little in sample 10. Weathering rather variable. Many small bits seem worn, from water or trample. Sample 4 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Medium-size sample, with mostly tiny bits but a few larger ones, up to 9 cm. Mostly sheep-size; only diagnostics are a digested sesamoid and phalanx fragment, and a human incisor (not shed). One bit each of microfauna (amphibian) and eggshell. Fairly even body part distribution considering sample size, but note that only feet are digested. Some burning, mostly low temperature. Weathering a bit variable, but most is fairly battered and looks kicked around. No sense of coherence; looks like fill. Sample 7 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Similar to sample 4, but a little smaller and totally lacking diagnostics. Perhaps a bit more burning. A bit of microfauna and fish. Mixed origins, looks like fill. Last number = 110Figurine Records: No GroundStone Records: No Heavy Residue Records: No Microfaunal Records: No
