Category: Layer dug in 2006
Area: TP
Interpretive Categories: infill layer
Data Category Information: Deposition: homogeneous
Dimensions: 3.93 x 3.62 x 0.06
Discussion: This is a considerably homogenous infill layer placed on a floor of Building 62(unit 13040). The layer is an effect of accumulation process connected with the abandonment of Building 62 and it is set below a make up layer of building 61 floor sequence(11779). It is very thick, having c. 0.10 m of heights. It is composed mainly of dark grey silty sand with lots of small pieces of charcoal. The bedding was massive in general but a large in thickness and surface lenses of pale yellow silty clay were recorded in the western section of the layer. It probably originate from the upper make up layer. This indicates that the floor infill level in the moment of levelling the surface was uneven. The layer was very rich with various inclusions, mainly animal bones.
The basal boundary of the unit was sloping eastwards so that the heights differed from 0.06 m in the western section to 0.12 in the eastern one.
