Unit 13133
Category: Skeleton dug in 2006
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: disarticulated elements of a single individual
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: The articulated legs and arms and head/madible of SK13133 was taken from another skeleton and intentionally placed into the grave in a simulated flexed position. The legs and arms were articulated even though they had been fully removed from the rest of the skeleton. This indicates that the arms were atleast partially fleshed when removed from the skeleton and placed into this grave. The relationship of SK13133 to the individuals above it (SK13126, 12935, 13132) is unclear. The relationship of SK13133 to the individuals below it (SK13162/13163) is also unclear. The death of SK13162/13163 during chilbirth as well as the headless nature of the mother (SK13162) below SK13133 suggests that the burial of SK13133 may be related to these events rather than the ones above it. This is speculative at this point, however.

Other comments: Disarticulated elements of a single individual; (head and articulated arms and articulated legs). The disarticulated legs replicate the flexed (crouched) position when the legs are tighlty flexed at the hips and knees. The legs were disarticulated from from the same individual from the female head to the foot. One arm was disarticulated from the humeral head to the hand; the other arm was disarticulated from the elbow to the hand.
