Unit 13528
Category: Layer dug in 2007
Area: TP
Interpretive Categories: midden
Data Category Information: Location: external; Deposition: coarsely bedded (dumps)
Dimensions: 1.80 x 1.70 m x 0.27
Discussion: It is a fragment of midden located against north limitation of the excavation area. It was restricted from the West by a wall running North-South [11583]. Its Southern and Northern parts were truncated by later cuts (N - [13084], S - Mellaart's sounding). The deposit is sloping down towards the east and the south and it is placed on an earlier midden [13552] which covered the entire Northern part of the trench, and is younger than the wall 11583. There were several features revealed in the midden which might be defined as remnants of activities which took place on top of the midden. It seemed that at least part of the midden may have been under the roof, because there was quite well preserved phytolits in Northern part of the unit. The hypothesis is additionally supported by presence of a small posthole [cut 13549, infill 13550] which could be an element of kind of post construction.
