Unit 15066
Category: Layer dug in 2007
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: arbitrary eroded layer, eroded midden (15400)
Data Category Information: Description: void (unused unit no)
Discussion: Really crappy, indistinct material. It's right on the surface, thus it is heavily disturbed by bioturbation, suslecs, and erosion. It is also very dried out. It was a hard layer to follow, and may have been part of the midden layer (15400) below, but it is hard to tell. It had a lot of finds in it, which implies that it may have indeed been part of the midden, including a nice animal figurine and a cluster of three mini-clayballs the the south eastern corner. There were two pieces of modern looking pottery that were obviously not neolithic pottery, and they were not near each other and may have been brought there through one of the many suslec holes disturbing the layer, or may have been in the fill (15412) of the Byzantine grave cut that was noticed only when the wooden coffin (15420) was exposed.
