Unit 15099
Category: Cluster dug in 2007
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: mini clayball cluster
Data Category Information: Material: clayball
Description: Trench 10
Three small clayballs (~3-4cm in diameter) all together in the south eastern corner of Trench 10. They were in (15066) the eroded layer, just 4 cm below the surface. They look as though they have been deposited, but it is so eroded there are no visible cuts or such.
Discussion: Three little clayballs, 3-4 cm in diameter were in an obvious cluster. They were right in the South Eastern corner of Trench 10. Since the cluster was so close to the surface (~3-5 cm), the soil was too disturbed to see if there had been any cut or feature of some kind. The layer (15066) the cluster was found in was an eroded and healivy disturbed (by bioturbation as well) layer right on the surface that went down onto a midden, and it is possible the cluster belongs to the midden layer (15400), as (15066) may have been a heavily disturbed and eroded part of the midden layer (15400).
