Discussion: I began the third abritrary laye rof top soil (U.15358), west of Spaces 342 and 343 believing I would be coming down on mud brick architecture. As digging progressed, the soil type and consistency led us to believe that it was actually composed of pit fill and room fill. This suspiciion was confirmed aftr close inspection of the western walls of Space 342 and 343 as pits were visible in the sections. The outline of one of the pits was also visible in the bottom of the level. The south third of the level was also filled with many gray clay lumps and pieces of burned mud brick and mortar.
