Dimensions: up to 2cm thick 

 

Discussion: consistant layer of phytolith material. Looks mainly like reed/grass (( think). In amongst this material are a number of bones which may be the result of feasting activity as they appear big and fresh (I think). These appear liberally scattered throughout the deposit and not clustered in any specific area.

Consistency: friable to compact 

Colour: white to light brown 

Texture: silty sand 

Bedding: compound 

Inclusions: occasional pots and obsidian, more frequent bone
