Unit 16276
Category: Layer dug in 2008
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: plastered floor
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: occupation; Deposition: single
Discussion: Removal of white-grey plaster surface under room fill 15742 (?). This unit is truncated on the west side by Mellaart excavations and/or erosion. Material was very compact and friable with parts that came off in chunks. The surface was replastered at least once, but it was impossible to excavate these layers given the dryness and condition of the soil. This layer appears to be identical to the plastered layer 16287 of F.2368 to the south. The basal boundary was unclear in the north, coming down on both a grey and orange layer. Layer included bits of charcoal and animal bone fragments.
