Discussion: - Oven Structure - Penultimate phase of use.
- Better preserved on N, NW and along E side, where surface sheen is preserved.
- Central area damaged, presumably by heat, and elements of the NE completely destroyed.
- The two southern corners showed some signs of a residual surface or repair. Not discrete enough to warrant its own unit, but worthy of note. - This may alos have been a remnant of the collapsed superstructure.
Recognition: Looks surfacy.
Definition: Clearly defined by oven structure.
Execution: Trowel.
Condition: Hot, Dry.
Consistency: Cemented, firm.
Colour: Pale yellowish brown w. mid. Grey brown patches.
Texture: Slightly sandy silt.
Bedding: Massive.
Inclusions: Occa. Charcoal flecks.
Post-depositional Features: Fire-damaged on surface, making surface sheen uneven.
Basal Boundary: Fairly clear.
